Abstract
In network management systems, a view represents a subset of the
management domain tailored to a specific activity or management
role. The support for views is extremely relevant in large-scale
management systems where it becomes infeasible to centralize all the
management information. The paper proposes a model that recognizes the
importance and provides support for the coexistence of different
management views of a large set of entities. A prototype following the
proposed model has been implemented as a set of extensions to the open
source Scotty platform.
