PhD Thesis Supervision

The PhD theses listed below were supervised or co-supervised by me. This is clearly indicated in both cases. In all PhD theses I always ensure they result from research work that is internationally validated through various publications, and also by an external rapporteur who is usually an internationally well-known researcher. This information (the name and affiliation of the rapporteurs) is shown in the following table.

It’s also worthy to note that, within the PhD program in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, UFRN, Brazil, the PhD student Frederico Lopes did an internship ("sandwich" format) for 12 months in INESC- ID/Technical University of Lisbon, being supervised by me. The thesis was supervised by Profs. Thais Vasconcelos Batista and Flavia Delicato, from UFRN. The thesis was discussed in October 2011, at UFRN, Brazil, with the title "An Integration Platform Middleware for Ubiquitous Computing".
